“Oh No it isn’t” for 2021

Our annual pantomimes have become a feature in our fundraising diary over the past years – not only to celebrate the tradition of the event, which Orpington Village Hall has honored back to 1948, but also in bringing the community together in celebration of Family Fun.

Nina Lovett as Cinderella in 1948 at Orpington Village Hall. Nina is the dear late wife of our Chair of Trustees, Mr Norman Farrow.

This year, we have had to make the difficult decision not to go ahead with the show.  It has been an incredibly tough year and a half for the facility – as with all businesses, we were severely impacted by the Pandemic, but we also experienced a devastating flood to the halls in February 2021, which caused significant damage to both halls, the meeting room and toilet facilities.  We are still rebuilding and repairing, with the beautiful flooring being laid imminently.  With all this going on, and our priority in ensuring the regular classes and small businesses who use our halls as their home are able to operate again and rebuild their futures, we would not be able to bring the event to the community as we would like.

But do not worry – we will be working hard to ensure 2022 allows our fundraising community events to happen.

…….For now we are very pleased to announce that Art Evenings are back!
