Kids’ party inspiration
Holding a children’s party can seem a little overwhelming at first, decisions will definitely need to be made. What shall we do? Where shall we go? How shall we keep them interested? Where to start? So, we thought we would share with you a couple of examples of parties that we have hosted at Orpington Village Hall.
1. The fairy princess bouncy castle party
This party was held in the Alfred Brown Hall, the larger of the two halls, 21 children were invited to this 4th birthday party. The bouncy castle was hired from Belvedere Bouncy Castles, it was delivered and ready to go within the half hour set up window factored in before the party began. The hall comfortably held the bouncy castle and the children’s banqueting table making it easy for parents to keep an eye on all the children, all of the time. The tables and chairs were set up in a U-shape arrangement by the hall staff, as pre-arranged with a plan, before the family arrived to decorate the hall.
The food was catered by the family holding the event, they brought all the food with them when they arrived and stored it all in the kitchen until it was time for the big reveal. This party took advantage of the ‘Kids party package’, they held the event on Saturday afternoon, arriving at 2.30pm to lay the table, put up some decorations and be on site to receive and sign for the bouncy castle. The kids arrived at 3pm, jumped on the bouncy castle, played some games, had afternoon tea and were picked up at 5pm, this gave the family half an hour to clear up and be out of the venue by 5.30pm.
2. The video arcade party
This party was held in the Aubrey Mullock Hall, the smaller of the two halls. Fourteen boys were invited to this 12th birthday party. The video arcade, complete with two big screens and four smaller screens, gaming chairs and bean bags, was sourced from Pop-up Arcade. They were able to set everything up within the 30 minute preparation window the family had planned for, but so as to allow the boys a enough time for each of them to have a go on all of the games, the standard 3 hour package was extended by one hour, this gave the boys 3 hours on the games with half an hour to set up at the beginning and then breakdown at the end. Everything was wrapped up by 6.30pm.
The catering was handled by Dominoes Pizza, located just a little further along the Hight Street, they delivered direct to Orpington Village Hall and our staff let them in. All drinks were provided by the birthday boy’s family, easily picked up from the Tesco’s opposite the venue.
We also host a wide variety of other events:
- Grown-up birthday parties
